I learnt about MBTI tests during psychology modules and no matter how many times I take it, the same results comes out so I can safely say my personality has settled and the tests are accurate (according to the different descriptions from the different sources).
Many organizations take this test as a standard to know more about interviewees. I personally think that taking one at any time in the course of your life will greatly contribute to the understanding of yourself. The more you take, the better you understand yourself (provided that you accept and understand plus evaluate the results). Once you know your strengths and weaknesses, you will be able to improve yourself as a person by correcting "bad" behavior. Not all traits are totally bad but some are unwanted for in the society or environment you live in.
More recently on the morning of Car's birthday party, my friend K posted something that caught my attention and sparked my interest on MBTI tests again.
It says I'm Elrond!
Another of my friend posted this.

Just now my cousin posted something about it on Facebook timeline. I took the test again and got the same result. What's new is the more detailed descriptions of the different personality types. I found the personality description for mine perturbingly correct.
You can take the test here.

Done? Read your personality description? Surprisingly accurate right?
For me, I'm an INTJ (Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging). My T and J are a bit on the low side though, only 2%. So I may have a bit of the Feeling and Prospecting attributes sometimes (F versus T, J versus P). And they say Gandalf is a INTJ. Opps.
Apparently the INTJ personality type is very rare (2% in the States), even more so in females (only 0.8%). Should I feel a little proud about that or just apprehensive? We are typically bookworms from a young age and words to describe us would be knowledgable, independent, perfectionist, imaginative, decisive, idealistic, cynical, private, rational...the list goes on. Basically, we are 'the ultimate “Man behind the curtain”'. I agree with that. Very much. We enjoy being behind the scene pulling the strings instead of being in the centre of action and commotion. Let's leave the showing-off to the Extroverts, ya?
Really scary. And so I wondered, which different personalities my friends are? Some of their personalities are not reflected as strongly as mine I guess, and understanding yourself plays a huge factor in taking the test. And to answer with the mindset of who you are, not who you want to be or want to see yourself as. If you catch the drift. (Had my own share of delusional "friends" who thinks they are like that and pretend they are so. But actually they are clearly not. Let's not mention any names here.)
Just a little something for you to spend time doing a little thinking and reflect on your own existence.
(:
