The Worker's Party made history today, winning over Aljunied GRC on top of Hougang SRC. Although joy has been expressed over the rise of the opposition parties, there is also no doubt that we lost some good leaders too, namely our beloved Foreign Minister George Yeo and also Mr Chiam See Tong.
This is the first time I have been so concerned over the General Elections. Even though I have not reached the legal voting age, I too share the concern of first-time voters not being able to judge impartially to vote for the best that Singapore deserves and not be blinded by discrimination and contribute to the doing of mistakes that may lead to unpredictable and disasterous results.
Perhaps PAP will reflect on their huge and substantial loss, and strive to be even better in the next GE, when I'll be eligible to vote. There isn't a definate win or loss for both parties tonight but I certainly hope that they can pick themselves up, learn from it and move forward to a brighter future.
